Providing Increased Quality and Value

We're always searching for new ways to enhance our products and bring greater value and innovation to our customers.  Some of our newest CID-1 and CID-2improvements include the development of the RPR-3LD and SPR-3LD Pulse Isolation Relays, and a specialized "knock-out enclosure" for our Customer Interface Devices (CID).  Read on to learn more about these exciting new developments.

New CID Enclosure

CID  Customer Interface Device
CID knock-out enclosuresRecently we've seen a large increase in the sales of our popular, low-cost CID Customer Interface Devices.  Solid State Instruments has been providing numerous configurations for the CIDs in order to meet individual needs.  Due to the increase in demand, we've decided to consolidate and simplify the enclosure to increase flexibility of the CID for our customers.

SSI is proud to announce that we've consolidated all of our CID-1 and CID-2 models into one model of each, housed in our new versatile rain-tight enclosure.  Instead of having 11 different versions of enclosures for both the CID-1's and CID-2's, one universal model of each will be offered that can be modified to whichever configuration is needed.

Upon installation, the installer will be able to tailor the unit for their specific needs.  There are 4 knock-out-hole options on the enclosure that can easily be removed on-site in order to fit each unique situation.

No more trying to figure out which model you need before installation.  Simply knowing whether a CID-1 or CID-2 will meet your specifications is all that's needed. Once on-site, you can simply knock-out whichever holes are necessary.

By simplifying our enclosures and offering a universal model, we hope to make installation even easier for our customers allowing for greater flexibility, convenience, and quicker installation time.

CID Features Include:
  • provides convenient termination point for KYZ inputs and outputs
  • provides screw terminals
  • provides fusing with standard 3AG or AGC fuses
  • provides transient voltage protection for contacts

Introducing the RPR-3LD and SPR-3LD

In response to customer demand, SSI now offers a drop-in replacement for the Sentry 30 and Sentry30E.

RPR-3LD Repeating Pulse Relay
RPR-3LDThe RPR-3LD Repeating Pulse Relay is designed as a direct cross to the Sentry 30 relay with matching terminal arrangements to make it truly a form, fit and functional cross. It provides three isolated, solid-state, Form C (K, Y, & Z) dry contacts from one Form C input. It is designed to filter noise and transients from its input to prevent false pulses at its output. The RPR-3LD's robust solid-state switching devices are rated at 800V and 750mA giving maximum protection from lightning or transient voltage damage. Its built-in transient protection for the solid-state switch contact eliminates the need for external or off-board transient suppression devices.

Typical applications include interfacing between utility metering devices and:
  • Customer-owned energy control systems
  • Demand recorders
  • Supervisory control systems (SCADA)

SPR-3LD Repeating Pulse Relay

SPR-3LDThe SPR-3LD Repeating Pulse Relay is designed as a direct cross to the Sentry 30E relay with matching terminal arrangements. It provides three isolated, solid-state, Form C (K, Y, & Z) dry contacts from one Form C input. The SPR-3LD's input and output circuit's terminal strip connector is a "EURO" type providing excellent insulation. The "K" lead of the SPR-3LD's output is fused to prevent damage to the relay under almost any conditions a user might cause such as excessive current, incorrect wiring, etc.  The SPR-3LD's robust solid-state switching devices are rated at 400V and 150mA giving maximum protection from lightning or transient voltage damage.

Typical applications include interfacing between utility metering devices and:

  • Customer-owned energy control systems
  • Demand recorders
  • Supervisory control systems (SCADA)
